Health and Safety

All members of staff, paid or volunteer, are required to comply with the Company's Health & Safety policy. A copy will be made available to each new member of staff and he/she will be required to sign to confirm that they have read and understood it. Certain tasks on the railway require attendance at training courses before the volunteers undertake them and those concerned with operating the railway will be required to undertake a medical examination by the company's Medical Officer.
Colour blindness is a crucial factor and although the VLO will give each intended operational volunteer a provisional color eye test, the final decision of physical fitness will depend on the Railway Doctor's decision.
