Engine House maintenance

 

We are seeking volunteers with a practical skillset to join our maintenance team at The Engine House. You will play a vital role in the maintenance and development of our historic railway, helping to keep our facilities in top condition and ensuring a smooth visitor experience.

• Assist with construction, maintenance, and repairs around the site

• Use manual skills such as carpentry, painting etc.

• Work on outdoor projects such as picnic area maintenance

• Assist with displays and exhibit construction

Skills/attributes required

• Practical skills such as carpentry, painting

• Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces as needed

• Physical stamina for outdoor work or manual labour tasks

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Training

​

On-the-job training will be provided as appropriate. You will also need to complete our Working at Height online training course.
