First stopping train at Eardington station for 41 years

Volunteer roles at Eardington

Until recently, Eardington was classified as a halt and had been closed to passenger services for many years. However, it reopened to local passenger traffic at the 2023 Autumn Steam Gala, welcoming visitors with open arms and plenty of delicious home-made cake. Eardington has now been promoted to Station status, and its active band of volunteers have big plans for its future. As well as opening for special events, the station staff are working on developing the site further.

Gardening and maintenance

Eardington is looking for volunteers to help with gardening and grounds maintenance. If you could help tend our flower borders or join us in looking after our large site, including a wildflower meadow and a new heritage orchard, you'd be very welcome and could make a real difference to our station! If you like working outdoors, good company and the sight of steam trains climbing Eardington bank, this could be the role for you!
