Wagon repair and restoration

Wagons form an important part of our heritage steam railway, and goods trains are a much-loved attraction in special events such as steam galas, where visitors can see what rail traffic on a branch line in the 19th and 20th centuries would have been like. Our wagons are restored and maintained by a team working in the yard at Bewdley station.

The wagon department is looking for people with the following skills:

• carpenters

• metalworkers

• machinists

• painters

We are also glad to have general help with jobs such as cleaning.

Training

​​​

On-the-job training is provided based on your interests. You will also have to complete the Working at Height online training course.
