Looking after visitors

It takes a lot of volunteers across the whole railway to take care of the thousands of visitors we have over the year. If you enjoy meeting people and want to help them have a good day out, one of these roles could be what you're looking for!

Catering

There are food outlets on most stations, and on-train buffet services also provide refreshments to our passengers. Volunteers may also help behind the bar at our two pubs.

Gardening and maintenance

These volunteers work behind the scenes keeping our stations in good repair, and tending gardens and planters. Their efforts help to create a good first impression on visitors arriving at the station for their journey.

Retail

Kidderminster, The Engine House and Bridgnorth have large shops selling souvenirs, clothing, books and miniature railway kits.  Most of our stations also have smaller shops which help to raise money for their station funds.
